Tactical tips

What works for this sector

The specific levers PFW hosts in this sector pull to outperform — drawn from real campaign data.

The cricket-season fundraising rhythm

April: open season-long accumulator. May–August: monthly 50/50 keeps engagement. September: end-of-season presentation draw at the awards night. Winter: 100 Club provides off-season income.

Tea interval is your matchday selling moment

Cricket has a built-in 20-minute break with everyone in the pavilion. QR codes on the tea-room wall convert at high rates — more than at-the-bar football sales.

County partnerships unlock prize stock

If your club has a county relationship, signed shirts, bats and match memorabilia are often available as donated prizes. Higher per-ticket prize value than your local sponsor network can typically donate.

Indoor league season fills winter

October–March indoor leagues run alongside winter 100 Clubs. Use indoor league sessions to promote the off-season fundraiser.

Don’t underestimate the membership-network base

Cricket members are loyal — supporters’ club / 12th Man formats with £5–£10 monthly contributions have higher retention than equivalent football setups.

FAQ

What this sector asks us most

How does cricket fundraising fit around the long season?
Cricket’s six-month season + winter break is ideal for season-long accumulator 50/50s (sales April–September) plus a 100 Club for the off-season. The rhythm pairs naturally with the cricket calendar.
Do we need a licence?
Most village and league cricket fundraising runs as Small Society Lotteries (£40 council registration) or free prize draws. PFW configures to fit. We are not Gambling Commission licensed.
What about ECB-affiliated competitions or All Stars Cricket?
PFW is not affiliated with the ECB or any named ECB competition. Formats are generic UK fundraising mechanisms that work alongside any ECB or county structure your club operates within.
Can the junior section run separately from the senior club?
Yes — Robin can configure separate ledgers so junior-section funds (kit, coaching, tournament travel) stay ring-fenced from senior club operating revenue.
How do village-level clubs raise meaningful amounts?
Village clubs typically raise £1,500–£5,000 a season across a combined 50/50 + 100 Club setup. The numbers compound year-on-year as the recurring member base grows.
Can we use this alongside our existing tea-fund or bar income?
Yes — these are additive, not replacement. The bar, the tea fund and the fundraiser cover different supporter motivations and don’t cannibalise each other.
