50/50 draws are legal in the UK and run either as a society lottery (where your organisation holds the relevant licence or exemption) or as a free prize draw (with a genuine free-entry route). Robin sets up your draw to fit whichever route is right for you — both routes are supported on PFW.

Do I need a Gambling Commission licence?

Not necessarily. Many community groups, schools and small clubs run free prize draw–style 50/50s with no licence required. Larger clubs and registered charities often run society lotteries under a Small Society Lottery registration with their local council. Robin will ask a few questions and recommend the right route.

Which cadence raises the most money?

It depends on your supporter base. Monthly works best for most clubs and charities — predictable, easy to promote, and easy for supporters to commit to. Match day raises the most per event for sports clubs. Weekly raises the most aggregate revenue for very active communities.

What does it actually cost?

Our standard fee is 15%, taken off the top — what remains splits 50/50 between winner and cause. Grassroots clubs can pay what they feel. No setup, no subscriptions, no hidden charges. Card processing applies at cost (1.5% + 20p).

How long does it take to set up?

How is the winner picked?

A certified random draw at the time you set. Winners are notified by email and SMS automatically.

Can supporters subscribe and auto-enter every draw?

Yes. Recurring weekly or monthly subscriptions are supported, often at a small discount vs one-off tickets. This is the single biggest lever for predictable income.

Where does the money land?

Direct to your bank account via Stripe Connect. The winner’s 50% is paid out automatically. Your 50% lands in your account, usually within 2–3 working days.
