Play Fund Win recently sponsored the Football Trade Directory event at Stoke City’s Bet365 Stadium, delivering a presentation to attendees.
The event saw a mixture of clubs and football-related businesses join – in the latest of one of five events which our team have exhibited at this year.
Throughout these, we’ve sought to demonstrate the importance of fundraising, as well as showcase how our platform can work for clubs of all size. It has been a fantastic opportunity to get out and about and meet face-to-face, something which many of us forgot was even possible after a prolonged absence during the worst periods of the pandemic. In addition to Stoke, we have been to Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, Leeds United’s Elland Road and Hampden Park – the home of Scottish football! We also took a trip down to Gloucester’s Kingsholm Stadium for a special event dedicated to rugby.
Co-Founder and Chief Relationships Officer, Steve Lightfoot, Sport Business Development Manager, David Broadbent, and Head of Marketing & Communications, James Chadwick, attended the event in wintery conditions in Stoke and providing an answer to that most important of questions… Could the Play Fund Win team do it on a cold day in Stoke? Well – we’d like to think so!
As main sponsors of this event, we were afforded a presentation slot as well as additional promotion in the lead up to the exhibition, including Play Fund Win branding appearing in both the Football League Paper and the Non-League Paper.
On our sponsorship of the event, David Broadbent said, “We’ve attended all of the Football Trade Directory events this year since restrictions were eased and we’ve found them all very useful. We’ve made great connections with clubs and have launched a number of draws on the back of these. The opportunity arose to become the sponsor of the Stoke event and we decided that it was a great chance to showcase our platform to attendees. A big thank you must go to John and the team at Football Trade Directory for putting the events on this year, in spite of the challenges and uncertainty that Coronavirus has posed to both sport and events in this period.”
Play Fund Win offer an effective fundraising solution for sports clubs at all levels. We work with grassroots, and community clubs to help generate vital funds to assist with their day-to-day running and help in covering operational costs such as pitch hire, league registration costs, equipment and playing kits. In terms of professional clubs, we work alongside their associated foundations and community trusts to generate funds to support the often vital work which many of them carry out within the local area and further afield. We have recently worked with Manchester City’s City in the Community Foundation to help them mark their 35th anniversary. Through this, the club supplied some amazing prizes for the draw and thousands of pounds were raised for their mental health project, City Thrive, supporting young people in and around Manchester. Following this, we are confirming draws with clubs from every professional division, and are expecting to see a large number of clubs join our portfolio in 2022.
