Working with Middlesex FA, we helped to raise funds and offer great prizes for donors in the Middlesex FA Club Raffle.
The Middlesex FA Club Raffle ran for the duration of this summer’s European Football Championships, coming to an end on the day of the England men’s team’s first major tournament final since 1966. Many of the stars of the England side started their journeys in football at the grassroots, further underscoring the importance of these clubs in developing the next generation of Three Lions like Harry Kane and Kalvin Philips.
The special draw provided clubs in Middlesex with the opportunity to use our simple, free fundraising tool to raise money to offset their running costs and further encourage participation in sport. Those taking part had the chance to win the jackpot prize which increased with every entry and reached a phenomenal total of £1,174.00.
Within the draw 50% of each entry fee was donated to the club which the raffle entrant selected, with the remainder contributing towards two prize pots – one which was specific to each club, and a county-wide jackpot.
Clubs can now stage their own Play Fund Win regular draws and continue to fundraise using our simple, licensed digital raffle platform. To find out more about staging your own draws and create an additional income stream visit: playfundwin.com/host
On the success of the draw, George Wells, Head of Commercial and Operations, Middlesex FA, stated, “It was great to work with Play Fund Win as part of our aim in supporting clubs increase their income. Grassroots clubs are always looking at ways in which they can improve their service to their members and often this comes at a price. COVID-19 caused a number of issues for clubs across the Country and at Middlesex FA we were delighted to take part in a County draw with Play Fund Win which provided clubs the opportunity to raise some money as well as Middlesex FA the opportunity to raise some funds for our Charity Partner, St Luke’s Hospice. The process was easy for everyone involved and gives clubs an opportunity moving forward to do more regular fundraising raffles online to help them become more sustainable”.
Dan Schofield, CEO, Play Fund Win, added, “We were delighted with the response from clubs in Middlesex to the draw and their members and community, who have come out in force to take advantage of our platform and raise money at a time when grassroots sports needs investment most. The success of our Young Lions, many of whom started out at clubs like this, shows just how important it is for clubs to stay afloat and explore innovative funding solutions like Play fund Win”.
Caroline chose to support Harefield United FC and was lucky enough to scoop the overall draw jackpot. She told us, “Winning the jackpot was amazing, but what made it even more fantastic, was knowing that through purchasing tickets the football club will benefit too”.
