Middlesex Clubs To Benefit From Fundraising Raffle

We are excited to work with Middlesex FA this summer to support their grassroots clubs and to raise vital funds across the County.

With the help of Play Fund Win, Middlesex FA will be hosting a digital raffle, the Middlesex FA Club Raffle, for the duration of this summer’s European Football Championships. This special draw will provide clubs in Middlesex a simple, free fundraising tool to allow them to raise funds which offset the cost of running the clubs and further encourage participation in sport. Those taking part have the chance to win the Jackpot prize which starts at £1,000 and increases with every entry received amongst other prizes.

The draw sees 50% of each entry fee donated to the club which the raffle entrant selects, with the remainder contributing towards two prize pots. The draw will take place on 11 July, coinciding with the final, to allow a full month for clubs to promote and benefit from the raffle.

When entering the draw, those purchasing their tickets will be asked to select the grassroots club or club foundation they want to benefit from their entry and that club will receive 50% of that entry fee, which equates to £2.50 of the £5 entry fee. The remaining 50% builds up to form the club’s prize pot, the County-wide prize pot (which starts at £1,000 and increases with every entry received) and covers the operating cost of staging the draw. Entry is a simple process, visit playfundwin.com/MiddlesexFA and select the club to benefit from the raffle entry fee.

Clubs can promote the draws across their network, using the bespoke tools which can be requested by completing this form, and making sure people select their club when they enter. The more who select a club to benefit, the more that club makes from the draw.

Clubs can also stage their own Play Fund Win draws if they wish and continue to fundraise using the simple, licensed digital raffle platform. To find out more about staging your own draws as a regular income stream visit playfundwin.com/MiddlesexFA.

On the launch of the partnership, George Wells, Head of Commercial and Operations, Middlesex FA, stated, “The past 15 months have been a trying time for clubs across the County. We are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to our clubs to proactively fundraise to help recoup some of the revenues which have been lost during the pandemic. Play Fund Win is an easy-to-use free fundraising platform to help generate additional funds. The combination of supporting grassroots football in combination with the raffle competition, with a guaranteed winner at each club, will I am sure be attractive to many of our clubs and raise a considerable sum for them.”

Dan Schofield, CEO, Play Fund Win, added, “Having been involved in grassroots sports for most of my life, I understand the importance of funding to allow activities to take place. We have established the platform as a response to this need, which has become even more important following the lengthy periods of disruption due to Coronavirus. We are thrilled to be working with Middlesex FA to offer our innovative new digital platform to grassroots football clubs across the County. Together, we hope to raise thousands for grassroots football”.

Michelle Johnson, Club Welfare Officer, Harefield United Youth commented, “Play Fund Win and Middlesex FA working together to support the grassroots game will really help clubs like us recoup revenues lost during the long lay-off. This platform is available for all clubs to make use of and will benefit us after the difficult 15 months we have been through.

The chance to do something like this online throughout the Euros is a great opportunity and we are excited to get started. As a club we will be promoting the raffle with all of our members like we would have done face to face in the past to raise important funds for the club which will in turn benefit all.”
